Pediatric Traumatic Cataract With Capsular Fibrosis

A 1.5-year-old girl with a history of ocular trauma presents with intermittent strabismus. Upon examination, a traumatic cataract is observed. This corresponding video demonstrates how to gently undo posterior synechiae, presents an alternative approach to anterior capsulotomy in the setting of capsular fibrosis using radiofrequency cautery, and shows how to implant a one-piece IOL in an eye with potential bag fragility.
